The Launch of Tech Careers & Money { }

It started out with a desire to discuss Careers & Money together.

After leaving a 20+ year career in tech in 2022, I came into 2023 wanting to discuss what I had learned. Not just the experience from working on the job but also all the conversations outside of work. I wanted to share with my past self and you how career and money need to work together to achieve our goal. It frustrated me to know that you could work for all the fantastic tech equity, and get caught in the “golden jail”.

After exploring the idea of a podcast, Tech Equity & Money Talk in Q1 of 2023, it was launched at the end of May 2023.

Over the next two quarters, it kept climbing up the Listen Notes - Listen Score.

The positive feedback and conversations from launching the podcast made me realize there was more to do.

In November of 2023, we launched Tech Equity & Money News to provide a multi-faceted publication with news, tips, and reporting on the intersection of career and money. With this new vehicle and medium we could educate more through different mediums. In this year of building, one thing jumped out at us.

We are building an Education and Media Company, Tech Careers & Money { } to be a modern financial education platform specifically for employees of Tech Companies.

How many times do you hear someone comment." I wish they taught that in school." The comment is usually directed at the challenge of navigating a career or managing money. It is quickly followed by someone lamenting that their company cannot provide the education they need around tech equity and how to manage it. There is an expansive education gap in the fundamentals of managing a career, the money that comes with it, and its growth.

Tech Careers & Money { } will fill that gap with graduate-level education.

Here is our Mission and Vision:

Mission: Elevating Tech Professionals through unmatched career and personal finance education to equip them to make their best decisions.

Vision: To create the largest community of financially independent tech employees whose impact can help solve the world’s biggest problems

2023 saw us just getting started.

2024 is the year to get the word out and GROW.
